1959 – Two friends, Carlos Oliver and Ignacio Batlle, decide to create a machinery company for the Chemical Industry, in a small garage on Latrilla Street in Badalona.
1961 – Workshop relocation due to lack of space to Avda. Marti Pujol. Manufacturing of larger Discontinuous Ball Mills Molybat begins. During that era, they participate in the first Expoquimia Fair, and Oliver y Batlle S.A. is incorporated as a corporation.
1963 – Agreement signed with the Belgian company Ateliers Susmeyer to manufacture the revolutionary Vertical Microsphere Mill named Grindomix by O+B.
1966 – Execution of the largest varnish factory in Spain for Valencia Chemical Industries Nabersa. Also begins work with Danish Hempel, Polinyà plant project, and one of the most regular clients of the era, Titan.
1967 – Export begins with participation in London – Paris – New York Fairs.
1970 – At the OCA Show Fair in 1970, the new Centrimill Mill is presented, and over 500 units are sold in the United Kingdom.
1975 – The Avda. Martí Pujol workshop becomes too small, and land is acquired in the Manresá neighborhood. The move is done in several stages.
1977 – Together with Susmeyer, the new Supermill horizontal mill is developed. This new technology leads companies worldwide to purchase the manufacturing license for this mill to produce and market it in their respective countries.
1978 – Penetration into the Near East market. O+B is one of the first companies to arrive in this area, until then almost inaccessible.
1979 – The first “turnkey” factory is installed for Saudi Paints in Riyadh, and countless others are executed throughout the Persian Gulf. O+B is visited by a delegation from the People’s Republic of China headed by a high-ranking Communist Party minister. A significant agreement is signed to supply machines for various factories in different areas of the country.
1985 – Development of the new paint filling machine line. High-production gravimetric machines are developed and presented at the Achema Fair (Frankfurt-Germany).
1989 – Export to Eastern European countries. A significant order is secured with Nobiles (Wloclaweck-Poland), and subsequently in later years with many other companies.
At the end of the 80s, Barcelona secures the organization of the 1992 Olympic Games. Due to a forced relocation of Titan Industries, O+B undertakes the largest project in its history, supplying an automated factory in three phases: Synthetic Paint-Decorative Paint and finally Resins Factory.
1991 – Execution of significant projects in France, leveraging the establishment of an office in the country.
1994 – Absorption of Talleres Miralles, dedicated to process machinery for high-viscosity products.
1998 – Agreement with North American company Hockmeyer to manufacture the basket mill Millenium.
The assets of the centenary company Susmeyer are acquired, and O+B Europe is created in Brussels (Belgium).
1999 – Strengthening of the Technical Office both in machinery and Projects with new Engineers, as well as the assembly and electrical assembly workshops.
2005 – Development of new Electronic/Electronic Volumetric Fillers ranges Flash-5000 and 20000.
2008 – Commissioning of the new Valentine Varnishes production plant in
Montcada i Reixach (Barcelona), equipped with control center and
automation. Planned capacity: 20,000 Tn/year of water-based paints and
mastics and 14,000 Tn/year of solvent-based paints.
2009 – The company celebrates its 50th Anniversary with various events for workers and families.
2010 – Acquisition of Danish company PMN in Roskilde (Denmark) dedicated to end-of-line, Robots-Manipulators for containers and automation engineering for cans. With this acquisition, O+B can offer a complete solution for container dispensing-filling and palletizing.
2013 – Transfer of palletizing cell design and manufacturing from Denmark to Spain. Strengthening of the development and technical assistance department to undertake large complete plant projects around the five continents.
2015 –Execution of the third consecutive project for Nippon Paint in China: design and installation of a high-capacity modular automated line (30,000 kg/h of water-based decorative paint), covering the entire process from raw material handling to final filling.
2017 – Update and modernization of the company corporate image with a brand redesign. Relocation of the boiler-making area to a new 1,500 m² hall dedicated exclusively to stainless steel work, equipped with new machinery. This relocation freed up 1,500 m² in the main plant for assembly and testing of Filling, Mixing, and Milling.
2020 – Repair and remodeling of the office area after a fire in October. Installation of 380 photovoltaic panels with 205 kWp power for self- consumption, reinforcing the energy efficiency and sustainability of the plant. The assets of the centenary company Susmeyer are acquired, and O+B Europe is created in Brussels (Belgium).
2022 – Manufacturing of the largest disperser in O+B history, with 400 kW power to work with two 20,000 l tanks each for MONTÓ PINTURAS
2023 – Generational handover in management with the incorporation of Eva Batlle and Carles Oliver, who bring solid experience acquired both at Oliver + Batlle and other companies. This strengthens the family management model and the company’s export vocation.
2024 – Supply of the most feature-rich filling line manufactured to date, for a top 5 worldwide multinational manufacturer, in Spain.
