In this project, <a href=\"https:\/\/oliverbatlle.com\/en\/\">Oliver + Batlle<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0developed a turnkey solution for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inx.co.jp\/english\/\">Sakata INX Spain<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, incorporating a new 6,000-litre reactor together with all the auxiliary systems required for its operation, while ensuring seamless integration with the existing plant and full compliance with the client\u2019s process and safety requirements.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #a22887;\"><b>Sakata INX: Technology for printing ink manufacturing<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inx.co.jp\/english\/\"><b>Sakata INX <\/b><\/a><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is a Japan-based multinational company recognised worldwide for its leadership in the development and manufacture of <b>printing inks for the graphic arts<\/b> and packaging industries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Spain, Sakata INX Espa\u00f1a, S.A. operates production facilities equipped with advanced technologies for the <\/span><b>manufacture of varnishes, resins, and pigment dispersions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project focused on the production of a resin used as a raw material in the manufacture of white bases for printing inks applied to flexible plastic packaging.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This white base is one of the most critical layers in the printing process, acting as an opaque background onto which the final graphics and colours are printed. The quality of the resin has a direct impact on the properties of the ink, as well as on the performance and visual quality of the final print.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #a22887;\"><b>The Challenge: Integrating a new installation into an ATEX-Certified plant<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sakata already operated an installation supplied by another manufacturer, including not only the process reactor itself but also a significant part of the associated auxiliary systems, such as pumping units, heat exchangers, pipework networks and the control system.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new solution therefore had to be integrated into an already established production environment while providing the performance required to become a technically competitive alternative.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, the project involved several key challenges:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Executing the installation within an ATEX-classified plant.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Designing a custom-engineered segregation system that would enable the declassification of the area affected by the new installation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Delivering a complete turnkey solution, including engineering, manufacturing, installation and commissioning.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coordinating all project phases within a demanding execution schedule without interfering with the plant\u2019s normal operations.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #a22887;\"><b>Oliver + Batlle\u2019s solution: Turnkey engineering and tailor-made ATEX safety<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b>Installation area adaptation<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To execute the project within an ATEX-classified environment, <\/span><b>the area designated for the new reactor was segregated using custom-designed explosion-resistant panels.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This solution enabled the complete isolation of the process area and the declassification of the zone affected by the installation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new segregated area also incorporated:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>A continuous air renewal ventilation system.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Dedicated lighting installations.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Full integration with the plant\u2019s safety requirements.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-23930 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/oliverbatlle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/FOTO-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"429\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oliverbatlle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/FOTO-1.png 563w, https:\/\/oliverbatlle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/FOTO-1-300x229.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 563px) 100vw, 563px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><b>Process reactor<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The core of the installation is a 6.000-litre reactor mounted on a steel platform specifically designed for the project.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Main features:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Nominal capacity<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: 6,000 litres.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Main drive motor: 15 kW.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Dual-arm agitation system<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Design adapted to the specific requirements<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the resin manufacturing process.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The agitation system configuration ensures homogeneous mixing and effective control throughout the different stages of the process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-23933 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/oliverbatlle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/FOTO-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"228\" height=\"271\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Thermal control system<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The reactor is equipped with a double external half-pipe jacket designed to provide precise process temperature control. These jackets are connected to chilled water, hot water and steam.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All associated utility installations were supplied and integrated by Oliver auxiliary installations was prefabricated at Oliver + Batlle\u2019s facilities prior to shipment to the plant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These prefabricated assemblies included process lines, utility distribution systems and auxiliary services required for resin production.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This strategy simplified installation and availability.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b>Product Transfer and Filling:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The finished product is transferred by means of a gear pump transfer unit to a filling station equipped with a 1.500 kg weighing scale.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The system enables direct filling of IBC containers, ensuring accuracy,
